As you have probably already figured out by now, the cravings of wanting to smoke a cigarette get exponentially higher when you are trying to quit. Even before you actually try to stop, the pure psychological need starts to haunt you before you have even lit your last smoke. A big part of controlling your smoking cravings are first identifying your triggers and then finding a new way to deal with them.
I refer to "triggers" as a particular activity or habit that increases your urge or sets you off to craving and then lighting up a cigarette. For example, like I explain in my book, one of my triggers was a full stomach. Immediately after breakfast, lunch, and dinner I would reach for my pack of Marlboro's and light one up. As I know and have spoken with many other smokers and ex-smokers, this is a very common trigger for a lot of people.
It sort of becomes a ritual or habit to automatically light one up after eating. Since I identified that as one of my triggers that caused a strong craving, I then realized that I had to start a new ritual after eating a meal. So, when I quit smoking I started to chew gum immediately after a meal. Not nicotine gum, just regular Wrigley's chewing gum. Of course you will want to choose a gum that you like.
On top of the gum, I started using toothpicks after my meals. Not really to pick stuff out of my teeth, but to use as something to "play with" and keep my hands and mouth busy. When are addicted to smoking it is not just the physical nicotine that you are addicted to, you have also created an "oral" fixation. The toothpicks seemed to help greatly.
Of course this is only one method and not everything works for everybody, but I am just sharing one of the things that I did to help aid me during the stop smoking process. You may hate gum and/or toothpicks, but it is just one idea among many. You have to find what works best for you.
If you are serious about kicking your habit for good, then please visit my website and download a copy of my ebook. I really believe that the information inside of it will help you in your new (or not so new) goal. Even if you have already tried to quit smoking once, twice, or ten times, you should find great benefit by reading my book. As I say on my site, "What have you got to loose?"

How To Quit Smoking
If you have already been searching about how to quit smoking cigarettes, I'm sure you have run into several different websites on dozens of different ways to quit smoking. It is hard to figure out which ones really can help you and which ones are just scams. I believe that most of the information out there is put out by people with good intentions in mind, but no specific way will work for everybody.
Everyone is different and responds differently to different things. Of course I'm sure you already know this from experience in other things. Well, the same is true for how to quit smoking. You may have to research and try five separate stop smoking methods or programs before you find the right one that will work for you.
Most of the time it really is not the method that counts, it is you that makes the main difference on whether or not your quitting smoking program will be successful or not. You and the way you think are the major deciding factor on if you will be able to stop smoking for good. However, you may find one particular method that seems to work better for you than others, so never quit trying until you've reached your goal.
When looking for how to quit smoking information online you may get overwhelmed with all of the websites that are out there. There are numerous ways to quit smoking such as prescription medications, hypnosis, nicotine gum, nicotine patches, and all kinds of other things, but you have to remember that these are all just "aids" or "helpers". They can assist you in your goal to stop smoking, but they will not do it for you.
If you are looking for a miracle way to stop smoking you may be disappointed. I have been through it all during my personal mission to quit and I can tell you one secret...nothing will help you more than your own personal will power and determination. As always, I wish you the best of luck and feel confident that you will find the way on how to quit smoking.

How I Quit Smoking
Today I am starting this new blog to share with the world my pain and struggles that I went through when I quit smoking cigarettes. I am proud to say that I have not had a cigarette in over seven years now! I smoked for over nine years before I quit; sadly starting at the young age of thirteen. I am almost thirty now and haven't had a smoke since I was twenty-two.
For those of you who are older, you may say that I was much younger and it was easier to quit, I strongly disagree. I smoked for near ten years before I decided to give up the habit and it was the most challenging thing I had accomplished in my life up to that point. Remember that it is never too late to quit.
For those of you who are younger than me and are smoking cigarettes, please quit now! If you are a teenager or in your twenties this may not be at the top of your priority list, but it should be. You may not even think you have a problem and if you are still at this point in your life then it is time to realize that you should quit now. I believe that while not impossible, it does get harder and harder to stop smoking the longer that you smoke. Why not do it now before you get older?
If you are a parent who is concerned about your kid smoking, then you should check out my free Ebook, "How I Finally Quit Smoking Permanently." Read it and then let your kid(s) read it. I tell my story of how I started smoking when I was a young kid and the agony that I went through to quit smoking. I describe in detail the failed attempts and the final successful attempt, as well as the physical pain and mental stress that I endured. Reading this will probably change your kid's mind about smoking.
I am giving my Ebook away for free because I want to help as many smokers as possible to kick the habit for good. It will give me great satisfaction knowing that sharing my story has helped so many other people stop smoking. Not only will I be touching the lives of the smokers, I will also be affecting their families by saving the ones they love from an eminent gloomy future such as bad health, cancer, and even death from smoking cigarettes.
I ask you to help me spread my free quit smoking book across the Internet. Please pass my website link to everyone you know who could benefit from my story and quit smoking method. Think of any family, friends, and co-workers who smoke and are interested in quitting and give them my website. There is no catch to my free Ebook, I do not ask for any type of payment. All I do ask for to download the book is your name and email address. I promise that I will not bombard you with emails, nor rent or sell your email address to anybody.
So, if you are a smoker who has been thinking about quitting smoking, today is your lucky day. You found my website for a reason. You are obviously thinking about stopping smoking or you wouldn't even be reading this. My method may not work for everybody, but at least read the story and see how I quit smoking. There is a whole new life waiting for you after cigarettes.
Remember, you can do anything that you set your mind to. Good luck!
